Jnana Prabodhini ((マラーティー語:(ज्ञान प्रबोधिनी ))) which means 'Awakener of Real Knowledge' in Sanskrit is a social organisation in India. Started with the motto of "Motivating Intelligence for Social Change", its work now has grown in to multiple directions of social work.
Jnana Prabodhini works in fields such as education, research, rural development, health and youth organisation.〔
〕 It spans its presence to various locations in Maharashtra, India, such as Pune, Nigdi, Salumbre, Solapur, Harali, Ambajogai. It is also doing some works in parts of Jammu and Kashmir and the north eastern states of India.The organisation has started a school in Nigdi, Solapur and Sadashiv Peth, Pune.〔prashala.jnanaprabodhini.org〕
Jnana Prabodhini, which is non-political organization headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra, India, aims at the development of physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual qualities of people in general and of the youth in particular. This development should lead to leadership qualities, motivation building, attitude forming and understanding the problems of India.
In 1960, Dr. V.V. Pendse, an educator, dreamed of an institute that would awaken intellectual, physical and spiritual potential in our youth. What began as an experiment for the gifted, has now become a country-wide organization recognized at the national and international levels. Jnana Prabodhini (JP) has now grown into a movement for motivating intelligence towards social change.
Jnana Prabodhini is based on the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, the great Indian philosopher and visionary.
The organisation also contains many sections like ''Gram vikasan vibhag '' which develops the villages and ''Pradnyamanassanshodhika'' or, ''Sanskrit Samskruti Samshodhika, Ayurved Aushadhi Samshodhika'',

The school contains another 2 sections called ''yuvak vibhag'' and ''yuvati vibhag'' which organises ''dal''(sports tuitions or physical training) after school. The ''yuvak and yuvati vibhag'' also regularly organizes ''kridapratyakshike'' which are basically a show of daring achievements in various sports.
==Spread of the organisation==
Not only in the educational field but Jnana Prabodhini has also spread its arms very wide and deep in other social aspects.
Its 'Gram Vikasan Vibhag' that is, rural development sector, also works a lot for rural people. This department has promoted rural women to organise themselves to make Self Help Groups which means Bachatgats in marathi.
Jnana Prabodhini also has research sector under which ERC(Educational Research Centre), Psychology Research Centre and many other research organisations work.
Jnana Prabodhini also has its own publication which publishes a monthly magazine called Chhatra Prabodhan meaning Awakening of students.
